FirstHealth Hospice Light Up a Life Ceremony Set for Nov. 16

PINEHURST – Every holiday season the FirstHealth Hospice Foundation sets aside a time to share remembrances of those who have passed on and to honor those who continue to be important in the lives of their relatives and friends.

This year, the 2017 Light Up a Life ceremony will be held Thursday, Nov. 16 at 5 p.m. on the campus of FirstHealth Hospice & Palliative Care, located at 251 Campground Road, Pinehurst. A reception will follow.

Each light that shines during the Light Up a Life ceremony will represent a contribution supporting the mission of FirstHealth Hospice, which offers services in Moore and Montgomery counties, and reflects a symbol of holiday giving to benefit others throughout the holiday season.

The program will be held in a congenial setting in full view of the three lighted trees and the nearby Hospice Chapel and Hospice Gardens. The trees are located beyond the entrance wall to the Hospice Gardens and will remain lighted throughout the holidays. The community is welcome to view the trees throughout the season.

The only not-for-profit hospice organization serving Moore County, FirstHealth Hospice & Palliative Care is also the only hospice associated with FirstHealth of the Carolinas.

“Each year we honor and celebrate the lives of those who have touched us so deeply,” says Tina Gibbs, director of FirstHealth Hospice & Palliative Care. “Our staff and our families join together to remember and reflect, and to comfort one another during this holiday season. Light Up a Life contributions will help ensure that all FirstHealth Hospice patients and their families are treated with dignity and respect and that care is provided to anyone in need of hospice services.”

The FirstHealth Hospice Foundation supports FirstHealth Hospice & Palliative Care through generous contributions from the community. Funds raised are available to offset annual operational deficits and ensure that no one is ever turned away because of their ability to pay.
