In Remembrance

With thanks to U.S. Representative Richard Hudson, North Carolina 8th Congressional District, three American flags flown over the U.S. Capital on September 11, 2019 will now fly over Seven Lakes. Steve Hudson, a relative and Seven Lakes resident, presented the first flag to the Seven Lakes Fire Department. The remaining two flags were given to the SLLA Board of Directors and will be flown at the North and South gates. The 9/11 flag program was started in remembrance of those who lost their lives at the World Trade Center, Pentagon, and Shanksville, Pennsylvania site, as well as those first responder heroes who risked their lives to shepherd survivors to safety on that tragic day. It is a great honor to have these special flags in our community.
