Here’s a look at several events coming up in April and early May in the Seven Lakes and greater West End community:

Seven Lakes West

Children’s Easter Party

The annual Children’s Easter Party will be held on Sunday April 10, from 2-4 p.m. at the West Side Park Community Center playground. The event will include  bunny trails, egg hunts, meet the Easter Bunny, games and refreshments. The Garden Club will provide a fun plant potting experience for the kids. All ages are welcome.

Newcomers Meet and Greet

All new members since this event was last held in 2019 are welcome to attend Sunday, May 1, from 3-5 p.m. at the Community Center for light refreshments (beer, wine, water, tea) and snacks. Come meet neighbors and learn about the community, clubs, committees and opportunities to become involved. This is an adults-only event. Seven Lakes North and South

Community Garage Sale

A community wide garage sale will be held on April 9, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. All by-laws governing garage sales will be in effect.

Easter Egg Hunt

An Easter Egg Hunt is being planned for Saturday, April 16 at the north side park and clubhouse. This event will start promptly at 10 a.m. Volunteers are needed. If interested in helping, contact Kathy McNamara at mcnamaraka851@gmail.com.

Photo Contest

Starting May 2, resident photographers will be able to submit photographs taken within the community in the 2022 Photo Contest. Instructions and necessary paperwork will be available on the SLLA website and at the office. All photos must be submitted by 5 p.m. on May 31. Judging by residents in the community for People’s Choice and by a panel of judges will occur June 1-20.  Winning photos in four categories will be used on the SLLA website.

Jazz Festival

The Seven Lakes Jazz Festival will take place on Saturday, April 30, beginning at 7 p.m in the Seven Lakes Golf Club. Tickets are $69.95 and include dinner, music and dancing. Music will be performed by Jazz Revolution, a six-piece ensemble playing a variety of music and the sounds of standard jazz, R&B, cover, dance, Motown, and progressive soul.Call (910) 685-0320 for more information.
