Towne Insurance Agency has acquired Lee-Moore Insurance, a full-service, independent agency with locations in West End, Broadway, and Carrboro.

In addition to serving the insurance needs of businesses, families, and individuals, Lee-Moore has developed a specialty knowledge of insuring golf courses across the Southeast.

“Lee-Moore Insurance was founded to serve the Sandhills community and beyond in 1976,” said Tyler Horney, president of Lee-Moore Insurance. “Our goal has always been to serve our clients to the best of our ability and we are excited to now offer the expanded resources that come with being a part of the Towne family.”

“When considering agencies to partner with, we not only look for knowledgeable, experienced, and reliable insurance professionals, but for those who value Towne’s mission to serve others and enrich lives,” said W. Douglas Russell, president and CEO of Towne Insurance. “Lee-Moore Insurance further expands our growing reach in North Carolina and brings a team of caring and trusted industry professionals to the Towne family to serve our members and communities.”

As the fifth-largest bank-owned agency in the nation, Towne Insurance strategically partners with select firms that carry strong reputations in their local markets and share a similar commitment to exquisite service.

“Lee-Moore clients will continue to receive the excellent service they have experienced from the exceptional Lee-Moore team,” said Jim Clement, North Carolina and South Carolina president of Towne Insurance. “We’re excited to welcome the Lee-Moore team to Towne.”

Since entering the Carolinas in the fall of 2011, Towne Insurance has completed nine acquisitions in the region. Lee-Moore will continue operating under its present name and at its present locations for the immediate future.
