Seven Lakes communities are planning a variety of activities for the Fourth of July holiday for residents and their guests. This year the holiday falls on a Friday. Don your red, white and blue and bring your sparkle.
Seven Lakes North/South
Two parades, both on July 4, will give Seven Lakes North and South residents the opportunity to show off their patriotic spirit.
The Golf Cart Parade will begin at 9 a.m. at the North Mail House. Festoon those carts in red, white and blue and join in the fun. Golf carts will begin lining up 30 minutes before the parade starts. No bicycles, please.
The parade will follow Firetree Lane on the North Side. Residents are welcome to line up along the parade route.
The Boat Parade begins at 10:30 a.m. on Lake Sequoia. Residents are invited to decorate their boats and line up beginning at 10 a.m. behind the start boat at the “island.”
The parade can be viewed from Sequoia dam or the beach area at Sequoia Point. Bring a chair.
Prizes will be awarded for both the golf and boat parades.
The party continues through the day with food trucks from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the pool area.
A D.J. will provide music from 6-10 p.m. at Sequoia Point. Fireworks will launch at 9:30 p.m.
Seven Lakes West
Independence Day weekend kicks off for Seven Lakes West residents a day early.
Fireworks are planned for dusk on Thursday, July 3. The show will be launched from Pine Knoll Island. The best places to view the fireworks are from the water, the dam, and Johnson Point.
The Annual Boat Parade will take place on July 4. Boaters will meet at the dam at 11 a.m. Patriotically adorned boats will slowly cruise counterclockwise around the perimeter of the lake. The direction of parade travel alternates each year.
Observers can wave at the boaters from anywhere on the lakefront including the dam and Johnson Point. Participants should be mindful of boating safety guidelines. It takes about one hour and 20 minutes to complete the route.
The second annual golf cart parade will be held on Saturday, July 5. Participants will begin lining up at 9:15 with gussied up carts. The parade will begin at 9:30 a.m.
The weekend celebrations will wrap up with a concert at Johnson Point. Reflection II Band will perform from 5-8 p.m. on July 5.
