Seven Lakes West residents will welcome one new face and recognize a familiar one in a new position, according to personnel changes announced by the SLWLA board of directors.

The day-to-day operations of SLW are the responsibility of the community management company HRW, which employs a staff of seven in the community. Two positions became available during the last several months and are now filled. The board of directors announced the changes in October.

Susan Smith has been promoted from assistant community manager to manager. Smith’s stabilizing of administration processes, continual follow up and delivery was praised by the board of directors in the announcement sent to residents about the staff changes

“Her efforts have already been noted by the Finance Committee and the BOD,” the community message read. “We believe this is just the start of the quality of service expected by our members of our management company.”

The board added Jake Sutherland as the new Facilities Manager. Sutherland is a U.S. Army veteran and former Sergeant with the 82nd Airborne.

“Jake knows a thing or two about logistics, teamwork, and getting the job done — even under pressure,” said the board’s announcement.

Sutherland brings a decade of experience leading real estate teams, overseeing land development projects and managing everything from infrastructure to property operations.

Smith and Sutherland come well prepared for these positions, said board President Frank Ingham. Smith brings a knowledge base of the community and challenges associated with it to her role. Sutherland brings years of leadership and project management in positions of increased responsibilities.

“This Community simply could not run without paid community management assets as the workload is much too great for volunteers,” said Ingham.
