Lake House Tavern is putting teeth behind its commitment to giving back to the community with a new monthly charity initiative, beginning this month with a fundraiser supporting Friend to Friend, a local nonprofit that provides services and shelter for survivors of domestic violence.

Throughout the month, a donation bin will be located inside the restaurant where guests can drop off much-needed household and personal care items. The goal is to collect everyday essentials that help individuals and families transitioning into safe and stable living environments.

According to information provided by Friend to Friend, the organization is currently seeking the following items: twin-size comforters, pillows and pillow protectors, new bath towels, portable shower caddies, fragrance-free cleaning supplies, trash bags, paper towels and toilet paper, Swiffer mop liquid refills and pads, Diaper Genie trash bags, baby wipes and diapers, gift cards for groceries and gas.

Friend to Friend is a United Way agency supported by the North Carolina Council on Women and is dedicated to offering prevention, intervention and holistic recovery services for survivors of domestic violence.

Lake House Tavern has also announced its March drive will benefit the North Carolina Food Bank, continuing its focus on addressing critical needs of the wider community. Lake House Tavern is located at 200 Grant St., West End.
