Seven Lakes Salon Gets New Name, Same Heart

After nearly 12 years in the same Seven Lakes location, a familiar local business is getting a new name.

Polished Nails & Facials is now Brows & Nails by Teri, a change owner Teri Vo says better reflects the services she offers today while honoring the business she built alongside her late husband, Thomas.

“I’ve wanted to change the name for a long time,” Vo said. “I don’t do facials anymore. Most of my work now is brows and nails, and I want people to know what services I actually provide.”

While longtime clients know what to expect, Vo said newcomers searching online often have no idea that she specializes in eyebrow services because the business name no longer matched her work.

“Nothing is changing inside,” she said. “Everything stays the same. I just want the name to better reflect what I do.”

Vo and her husband opened the salon together and quickly became known for introducing dip powder nails to Moore County. Vo became one of the first technicians in the area to offer eyebrow tattooing services.

Over time, she moved away from traditional microblading and adopted a shading technique she describes as more natural-looking and less invasive.

“Today, people want a more natural look,” she said. “The shading technique heals faster, is less painful and works well for more skin types.”

She has always been drawn to faces.  “When I was little I was always drawing eyes, eyebrows and lips,” she said. “Nobody taught me. I was just obsessed with drawing them.”

That lifelong fascination became a career.

Today, Vo operates the business on her own following the unexpected death of her husband, Thomas, in November 2023. “Life keeps moving forward, she said. “If God wakes me up every day, then there is a purpose for it. You just keep going.”

She credits her children, faith and loyal customers with helping her through that difficult time. “We have such a great clientele here,” she said. “A lot of people know my husband, and being able to talk about him and share memories has helped me. Our customers are like family.”

Many clients refer to the salon still as just “Thomas and Teri’s,” which reflects the couple’s shared impact on the community.

“We always said one of the reasons we loved our jobs so much was because we had great clients,” Vo said. “It was never just about work.”

While the new name represents a fresh chapter, Vo says her commitment to her customers remains unchanged. She continues to offer dip powder nail services, eyebrow shading and basic pedicures by appointment.

Brows & Nails by Teri can be reached at (910) 673-8090 and is located at 1075 Seven Lakes Drive, #1660, West End.

She plans to remain right where she is. “I just signed another five-year lease,” she said. “I love our little town. I’ve seen a lot of changes over the years, but I still love being here.”
