Here at the Seven Lakes Insider, we believe it is never too early to start pursuing your passions. A young man in our community by the name of Don Campbell clearly believes the same.
In December 2015, Ken Culler opened a new facility in Seven Lakes, North Carolina. This is what was previously known as Seven Lakes Auto Wholesale. Ken brought over 12 years of auto industry experience to the area.
When Ken decided it was time to let someone else take over the business, Don Campbell was the one for the job.
Though Campbell did not always know that owning a business was what he wanted for his future, his passion for people and the Seven Lakes community fueled his endeavors to learn more and gain the experience he needed.
He started out on the career path of criminal justice, but quickly switched to study business. From the time he made the pivotal decision to change career paths, he knew he wanted to run his own business one day.
The question for Campbell then became, “Where would this business be?”
Campbell saw an opportunity that he was interested in so he delved into it, researched , and learned what he needed to do to get the ball rolling.
“I want to say a big thank you to Ken, the previous owner, for really giving me a helping hand and teaching me the ropes of the business. His experience he passed down to me is priceless and I could not have gotten started without his help,” says Campbell.
He is only 22 years old, which is something quite unique for a car dealer. With his hard work and mentorship from the previous owner, Campbell is now educated on the in and outs of running a business and is willing to do what it takes to be successful
Campbell has two favorite things that he really enjoys about this business. He enjoys traveling to auctions and bidding on vehicles.
The excitement and adrenaline rush when bidding against others for a certain vehicle creates a thrill unlike any other.
Campbell says, “It is truly a unique atmosphere and I find it very enjoyable.”
Another part of Seven Lakes Auto Sales that Campbell enjoys most is helping customers find their perfect match. Customers need a vehicle that they feel safe in and that they can trust. It is important that customers leave happy and are placed in the car that they wanted.
For Campbell, nothing is more satisfying in the business than making his customers happy.
“As for what change my ownership will bring,” he said, “all I can say is that the sky’s the limit. I plan to grow the business, looking at it from my long-term goal standpoint, and eventually want to open up multiple car dealerships either in this area or areas nearby in North Carolina.
“Most importantly,” he continued, “we will offer the same services as the business did before I became the owner; bringing the public reliable cars at affordable prices!”
Since Campbell’s ownership, the business is now titled, Seven Lakes Auto Sales, LLC. The goal of Seven Lakes Auto Sales is to provide quality vehicles for the local community at wholesale prices.
