There’s never been a shop in Seven Lakes quite like BARRON’s Boutique.
BARRON’s Boutique opened in July 2018 and is the sister company of BARRON Tile & Stone which has been serving the community for the past twenty years.
BARRON Tile & Stone is owned and operated by James Boyd, who took over the company which was previously Seven Lakes Tile.
Jennifer Boyd, James’ wife, decided to reignite her passion as an interior designer and start her own shop called BARRON’s Boutique.
Jennifer received an education in interior design and began working in the field out of high school. After her children were born, she took a step back from her career to focus on raising a family. Now she hopes to use her abilities to brighten the homes of Seven Lakes.
Her goal with BARRON’s Boutique is to offer home furnishings and design that are unique to Seven Lakes at a competitive price.
“Designing is my forte,” Jennifer said. “James goes to the market with me. He has business experience that I don’t, and we work well together.”
BARRON’s Boutique features items for rooms such as the kitchen, bathroom, living room, and more. The shop is a perfect stop for inspiration or to pick up a last-minute gift.
“I’m the only one in Seven Lakes who does interior design from a shop,” Jennifer said. “We offer anything that has to do with home furnishings from upholstered furniture, rugs, fabrics for custom bedding, and accessories. We try to offer things that you don’t see every day.”
In addition to offering a selection of various items, BARRON’s Boutique also supports local artists. Much of the art work is done by an artist located in Raleigh. Some of the live edge tables were made out from a gentleman in Seven Lakes.
For those who are planning on having a house warming party or wedding shower, a registry can be made at the shop for those who know just what they want for their home.
Jennifer carefully articulated which items had the quality to be in her shop. Every piece has a story.
Some of the throws in her shop are hand-tied on a loom that the company obtained from the 1920s. Since it is made with the loom, the delicate yarns are able to be used to retain a softer feel than other throws.
“I like things that have a story to them,” she said. “I’m very particular as to what companies I bring in. I need a vendor who is going to bring quality and answer questions quickly.”
For homes that need both remodeling and interior design, Jennifer and James come together to use their strengths and recreate a space. James focuses on the mechanics of redesigning the layout of a space while Jennifer determines what the space needs to feel complete for the client needs.
“We have a lot of fun doing it together,” James said.
“I feel like Seven Lakes has so much potential,” Jennifer said. “We want to make Seven Lakes a destination for retail and so much more.”
