As a certified family nurse practitioner, Donze is responsible for diagnosing and treating adult and pediatric patients for a wide variety of ailments – from the common cold to the flu to chronic conditions such as diabetes and heart failure.
A native of Massachusetts, Donze says she and her husband had talked about moving for years and absolutely fell in love with North Carolina.
“We really enjoy being outdoors, but we don’t go outdoors much in the winter due to the cold and snow in Massachusetts,” says Donze. “Moving south was the perfect fit for us, and we look so forward to getting settled.”
Donze feels FirstHealth Family Medicine-Carthage is the perfect fit as well.
“I was really looking for an opportunity to practice true family medicine,” she says. “One thing I like most about family medicine is getting connected with whole families and the relationships I’m able to develop with my patients, and working with FirstHealth gives me the opportunity to do just that.”
Donze earned a bachelor of science degree in exercise physiology with a minor in nutrition from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell and a bachelor of science in nursing from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. She later went on to receive a master of science in nursing, family nurse practitioner from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.
Prior to joining FirstHealth, she was a nurse practitioner at a community health center in Southbridge, Massachusetts providing care to underserved and high-risk populations as well as running a teen clinic.
When she’s not caring for patients, Donze enjoys spending time with her husband and three children, as well as her three dogs, two cats and two horses. An avid outdoor enthusiast, she loves riding horses, biking, hiking and CrossFit.
