After a summer hiatus the Women of Seven Lakes are looking forward to the 2019/2020 program year.
Monthly meetings will resume on Thursday, September 5th at the Chapel in the Pines at 11:30AM. This meeting is the Annual Membership Drive, and lunch will be provided. An icebreaker Starburst game will help us get to know each other better. There will be a short presentation of the History of the Women of Seven Lakes so new members can learn what we are all about and one lucky winner will share the 50/50 raffle prize. We hope to see returning members and encourage everyone to bring friends to join our group.
The Women of Seven Lakes is open to all members of the Seven Lakes community, North, South and West. We are a 501c3 Organization and raise funds which are given back to community organizations. Last year’s recipients included, the WEUM Food Bank, Clara McLean House, Chapel in the Pines, 7 Lakes Fire & Rescue, 7 Lakes Beautification, Moore Coalition and Friend to Friend.
New members are invited to come and learn about the Women of Seven Lakes. Annual dues for the group are $12 per year. Meetings are held on the first Thursday of the month at the Chapel in the Pines. No meeting will be held in January. Interesting speakers have been lined up for this year’s meetings including Laura Douglass of the Pilot newspaper, a member of the sheriff’s department, Lynn Drinkwater from the Moore County Senior Enrichment Center, Audiologist Theresa Rogers and Caring Hearts for Canines Jennifer Chopping. Our major fundraiser of the year will be the Annual Pancake Breakfast with Santa on Saturday, December 7th. We will also get together in February for a Luncheon and Games Party.
The Women of Seven Lakes goals are to promote fellowship among members of the Seven Lakes community; to sponsor recreational activities and social events; to promote the general well-being of the Seven Lakes community and to engage in charitable enterprise in the Seven Lakes area.
