The Seven Lakes Library was housed for years in the Seven Lakes Executive Offices, the building next to Quality Care Pharmacy, on Seven Lakes Drive. It functioned strictly as a self-serve operation. Volunteers unlocked the door to the building in the morning and locked the door in the late afternoon. Book shelves lined the halls of the building and volunteers shelved and weeded the books, which were donated by community members. The library was available to anyone who wanted to use it.
That office building is no longer able to house the library and the books and puzzles were removed until a suitable space could be found to reestablished the library. Ideally a space located in the Seven Lakes Business District will offer to house the library so that the people who live in the greater area will continue to be able to have access to the books. Volunteers are still available to shelve the books. Additional volunteers are willing to build new shelves.
If you have a business in the Seven Lakes Business District and are willing to house the library, please contact Valerie Doolittle at (910) 400-5472.
