Celebrate love this February and join the cast of Encore Center in their community production of Almost, Maine. A fine blend of emerging artists and professional actors leads to unique, quality productions right at home in the Sandhills.
Almost, Maine is a play comprised of nine short stories that delve into love and loss in the small, remote “almost-town” of Almost, Maine. The characters within the stories find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected and hilarious ways. The narratives are filled with humor, romance, and heartbreak, with a love story for every walk of life.
“Any audience member can watch this show and see a character that reminds them of themselves,” said Artistic Director Greta Zandstra. “We chose it for Valentine’s day because it’s a collection of love stories that almost anyone can relate to.”
Almost, Maine will be the third show put on by Encore Center, having been preceded by Sleepy Hollow in the fall and A Christmas Carol over the holidays. Encore Center will be wrapping up their first season in April with a performance of A Little Princess, once again featuring emerging talent and regional stars of all ages.
ENCORE! by Carolina Performing Arts Studio has consistently been providing Moore County with high quality, local performances in dance, music, and theatre. Encore is committed to enriching the lives of community members and reaching out to involve local residents in music, dance, theatre, acting, and visual art through professional productions and educational classes.
As of August 2019, Encore Center began putting on live theatrical performances, with positive feedback from the community. Shows put on by Encore Center feature both renowned North Carolina performers and local rising talent, and those looking to leap into theatre can even begin taking Acting Instruction and Musical Theatre Classes offered by Encore Center for upcoming seasons.
