Contest Rules:
- Interview a Veteran about the lessons learned during his/her military service.
- Submission must include writer’s name, school, grade, phone number and email address.
- Essay must be the writer’s original work and will become property of OutreachNC.
- Interview-formatted essay must be no longer than 1000 words and should include:
- a brief description of the Veteran’s service
- a brief description of how the interviewer knows the Veteran
- questions posed and the answers given
Entry Deadline: Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at 5:00 p.m.
Contest Judging:
- All submissions will be read, rated, and selected for publication by the OutreachNC editorial committee.
- First-Place interview-formatted essay will be published in the November 2020 OutreachNC.
- First-Place interview-formatted essay will be awarded a $100 gift card.
