The community is invited to the thirteenth educational seminar sponsored by AOS Care Management, AOS & Friends Care, Fox Hollow Senior Living, OutreachNC magazine and Seven Lakes Chapel in the Pines on March 19 at 4:00 p.m. Jennifer Tyner will facilitate an open discussion on “The Best Gift: A Family Conversation to Communicate Your Wishes”  The program will be held at Seven Lakes Chapel in the Pines located at 581 Seven Lakes Drive in West End.

“The Best Gift: A Family Conversation to Communicate Your Wishes” is a program designed to change the way we talk about advance care planning. Jennifer Tyner, Lead Care Manager, AOS Care Management encourages her clients and friends of all ages to share their advance care wishes. “No one wants to talk about the life altering results of an accident or medical crisis. However, the gift of this conversation allows your family and friends the opportunity to honor your legacy by ensuring your wishes are being fulfilled with your blessing and guidance.”

As an aging life care professional, Tyner has seventeen years of experience supporting clients and their families as they navigate the challenges of aging. She has experienced the value of planning ahead while everyone can think clearly and the added burden of not knowing what to do when the emotions of a crisis cloud decisions. This program will share resources to help you start an important family conversation.

The program will also include an introduction to “Five Wishes.”  Written with the help of The American Bar Association’s Commission on Law and Aging, and the nation’s leading experts in end of life care, “Five Wishes” is the first living will that talks about your personal, emotional and spiritual needs as well as your medical wishes.  AOS Care Management will provide copies of “Five Wishes” for attendees to take and complete.

The doors open at 3:30 p.m. to provide participants an opportunity to visit with the event sponsors and speaker. The seminar begins at 4:00 p.m.

Reservations are encouraged. Call 910.692.0683 or email info@aosnc.com to register.
