LOCAL BOY SCOUT PUTS HEART AND SOUL INTO EAGLE SCOUT PROJECT

Nathan Auman, a Boy Scout from West End, North Carolina, put his heart and soul into his Eagle Scout project, making it a family affair while he worked hard to bring even more beauty to the FirstHealth Hospice Garden. Auman, a junior at Union Pines High School, decided to make bird houses, butterfly boxes and beehives to be placed in the garden in memory of his grandfather, Charles Roe Auman, Jr. Nathan’s grandfather was a patient at FirstHealth Hospice House when he passed away in September 2018. Auman recruited his dad, aunt and uncles to help with the project, and his family joined other Scouts from Troop 98 on Friday, March 12, 2021, to install the houses, hives and a memorial plaque in the garden.
