Seven Lakes West property owners will choose from four candidates next month to fill two seats on the Seven Lake West Landowners Association’s board of directors.
Property owners will be mailed ballots. Results will be tabulated by a committee, and results will be reported during the annual meeting in March.
There will be a “meet the candidates” session, held over the Zoom website platform, on Feb. 10 at 7 p.m. It will be recorded and disseminated to all members.
The candidates include:
* Jim Greaves, of 105 Patman Court. Greaves and his wife moved to Seven Lakes West in 2007 after being in Chicago eight years.
Greaves has been on the board since 2020 and previously served on several committees, including communications, legal affairs, infrastructure and lake master plan.
“I believe my skill set of automating systems and continuous process improvement has been an asset to help further the progress this board and committees — as well as past boards and committees — have made towards making Seven Lakes West a vibrant, well-functioning community,” Greaves wrote in his brief bio.
* Robert Wesley Long Jr, of 125 Morris Drive. Long and his wife first bought their home in Seven Lakes West in 2012 and “migrated back and forth” before moving here permanently in 2018.
Long said he has spent his time boating, fishing, leading the Lake Auman Sports Club as president since 2020 and West End Kiwanis. He also has served on the board’s finance and lake committees.
“I have held numerous leadership roles and supervisory functions,” he wrote in his brief bio. “I am well versed in administrative duties, personnel management, operational functions, training and logistics areas as well. My philosophy,’Most people do not recognize opportunity, because it often comes disguised as hard work’ is indicative of my work ethic. I willingly accept new directions, opportunities and challenges in my future.”
* Timothy Niewald, of 426 Carriage Park Drive.
Niewald has extensive experience in construction and contracting and has managed a number of projects. He also has a real estate broker’s license and holds a general contractor’s license, specializing in commercial, medical and warehouse buildings.
“The real estate and construction business has always been Tim’s passion and lifelong career,” he wrote in his bio.
He also currently sits on the board of directors and is liaison to the Architectural Review Committee.
* Jack Roberts, of 150 Swaringen Drive. Roberts and his wife moved to Seven Lakes West in 2018. They moved from Ohio in 2007 and lived for several years in Holly Springs.
Roberts also has a background in construction and construction management, primarily with the Department of Defense. He currently owns a consulting company in this field.
Roberts has a degree in civil engineering and has served on the Seven Lakes West Infrastructure Committee since 2019. He was chairman of that committee until 2021.
“Examples of the (committee’s) accomplishments during my tenure as chair include initiating and leading the re-landscaping of the Lakeway arboretum, the in-depth study of SLW’s infrastructure, Johnson Point beach expansion and the initial planning of the structure enhancement of the dock piers,” he wrote in his bio. “I also assisted the finance committee on the five-year reserve study in areas of the IC’s area of responsibilities.”
Roberts also is currently on the SLW dam committee and a member of the Lake Auman Sports Club.
