This year’s annual Lake Auman Sports Club’s Spring Team Bass Tournament took place on Saturday, May 27, on Lake Auman.

Twenty-one anglers made up the nine teams that participated in this four-hour catch and release event. Prizes were awarded to teams with the heaviest total weights for the day and to individuals for the largest bass caught.

The weather cooperated, but unfortunately for most of the anglers, the fish did not. Overall, there were only 19 fish caught, which was fewer fish than in past years. At the end, the top three teams accounted for 12 of the total fish caught.

First-place honors went to Adam Minicucci and his son Kierce, with five fish caught and a total weight of 14 pounds. In second place were Roger, Chuck and Faith Hensley, whose team finished with five fish totaling 9.15 pounds. In third place rounding out the prize winner list was the team of Nathan and Blake Stroven, with two fish that weighed in at 7.2 pounds.

The top three largest bass caught were all close in weight to one another. The big bass prizes went to Justin Boisselle for catching a 4-pound, 11-ounce bass; Nathan Stroven for a 4-pound, 7.5-ounce bass; and Rob Everett weighing in the third largest bass at 4 pounds, 3 ounces.

Participating anglers always enjoy the picnic luncheon at Johnson Point following these bass tournaments and this year continued that tradition. Sandy Golding set up the luncheon and was assisted by Keith Golding and Don Smith. Tom Gaffney and Adam Howland officiated the

weigh-in.

On hand to capture the event on camera was LASC photographer Mike Meyer.
