Fifty Garden Club family members gathered on June 8 at the pavilion on Lake Longleaf to celebrate the end of a successful program year.

The evening featured a potluck picnic supper with an array of salads and sides to accompany the ham provided by the club. Lots of yummy desserts finished off a wonderful meal. Not only does this great bunch garden, but they also cook and bake.

A member “Thank You” raffle provided eight lucky winners with a choice of a gift card to the Garden Centers at ACE or Burney’s in the Village or a red, white and blue tote bag filled with picnic items.

The Garden Club will start its next program year in September. The first item on the agenda is a bus trip to the JC Raulston Arboretum and the State Farmers Market in Raleigh.

Seven Lakes Garden Club invites members of the community to join us for this day on Thursday, Sept. 14. The cost is $40 per person and includes transportation and the guided tour of the Arboretum.

Lunch will be at the Farmers Market on your own as you explore the offerings at the Market. Anyone interested in participating should contact Carolyn Sink, at 89chsink@gmail.com or call (803) 942-2032. You can also mail your check with your name and email address to SLGC, 2164 SLW, West End, NC 297376.
