Edmund Preston Lewis, 91, of Seven Lakes, passed away on Thursday, July 6, 2023, at his home.
Born on April 2, 1932, to the late Edmund and Helen Lewis, Ed graduated from Westfield High School, in New Jersey, in 1950. Ed then went to Colgate University, where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in finance.
After Colgate, Ed enlisted in the Army for two years, where he was stationed in San Francisco at the Presidio. After the Army, Ed started a 30 year career with AT&T in the finance division. While working in New York City, he obtained a master’s degree in economics from NYU (night school). Ed was a division manager of finance for AT&T before retiring to Seven Lakes in 1986.
He enjoyed golf, tennis, traveling, watching sports (especially the Yankees and Florida State University) and playing poker.
In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Lewis; one son, Edmund Lewis Jr.; and his sister, Marilyn Flinn.
Ed is survived by two sons, Gregory Lewis (Elizabeth Lewis) and Jeffrey Lewis; also survived by two granddaughters, Jacqueline Lewis and Katherine Lewis.
A memorial service was held on Friday, July 14, at 1 p.m., at Boles Funeral Home in Seven Lakes. Inurnment was private.
