The Women of Seven Lakes will meet Thursday, Oct. 3, at 2 p.m., at The Chapel in the Pines. The guest speaker will be Kim Daly, chair of Christmas For Moore. Christmas For Moore is a nonprofit organization with a mission of offering support for individuals and families in Moore County in need of assistance at Christmas time.
The organization invites you to join members and invite friends and neighbors to hear Daly present an overview of the organization and answer questions. Participating in the meeting is a wonderful way to get in the spirit for Christmas. The meeting is free for members and $5 for non-members.
On Thursday, Nov. 7, Women of Seven Lakes will be touring Southern Supreme Fruitcake and More, located in Bear Creek. The tour time is 11 a.m. If you’re interested in attending, meet at The Chapel in the Pines by 10:10 a.m., for the scheduled departure at 10:20 a.m. Carpooling is recommended. Harper’s Crossing Restaurant, in Bear Creek, is nearby for lunch.
The group will be sponsoring a Red Cross Blood Drive on Wednesday, Nov. 13, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Seven Lakes North Clubhouse. If you’re interested in donating blood, register in advance at redcross.org by clicking on “Make an Appointment.”
Women of Seven Lakes will have a craft table at the Seven Lakes North/South Chili Cook Off and Craft Show on Saturday, Nov. 16. If you’re interested in donating a craft and want to find out more information, send an email to Wof7Lakes@gmail.com.
Also note that the group can easily put the WoSL logo on a T-shirt of yours, if you bring a shirt at the next meeting. The cost is $10. Send an email to Wo7Lakes@gmail.com and let them know you’ll be bringing your T-shirt.
Fliers for the upcoming meetings and blood drive will be posted in the Seven Lakes North, South and West mail houses and the West End Post Office in advance of each Women of Seven Lakes event.
