As the holiday season fast approaches, Seven Lakes Fire and Rescue wishes to extend glad tidings to all.
In continuation of the department’s support of the Toys of Tots drive, SLFR will be taking donations at the firehouse for children in need. Please bring a new, unwrapped toy to brighten a child’s Christmas.
Last year, the department set a record with eight boxes filled. The station hopes to match or beat that number this year.
Firefighters are adding a special drive this year called “Bella’s Blessings.” This drive is for animals in need. Bella’s Blessings is in memory of Capt. Bouchelle’s lovable dog, Bella, who was a frequent visitor of the station for 15 years. In her memory, we are working with “Continuing the Mission,” which specializes in training companions for military members suffering from PTSD and other ailments.
Donations are also going to Moore County Humane Society to help pets find comfort before finding a forever home.
Donations sought for Bella’s Blessings include but are not limited to Chew Bones, Bowles, Toys, Blankets/Towels, Purina Pro Plan Small Bites (dogs), Pedigree beef wet food (puppies), Purina Kitten Chow and Friskey Turkey and Giblets.
These requests come from the organizations they go to benefit. Drop off locations are located at the firehouse on Seven Lakes Drive and Pinehills Veterinary Hospital in Seven Lakes. Bring your toy donations by Dec. 7 and your pet donations by Dec. 9.
You can also hand your donations off directly to Santa from 4 to 6 p.m. on Dec. 7 at the station. He will be stopping by for a visit and photos. Santa would love to see everyone. Donations are not required.
