Philip J. McElroy, 84, passed away peacefully surrounded by his wife and family on April 20, 2025, Easter Sunday.
He was married to Barbara, his high school sweetheart, for 64 wonderful years. He was a proud resident of Seven Lakes North.
Phil and Barbara had four children. Phil was a loving husband, and a loving father to his children and grandchildren. His oldest son, Philip R., of Tampa, has two sons, Philip A. ,of Tampa, and Nick, of Clearwater, Fla.; son, Greg (deceased) his wife, Deysi, of Wake Forest; daughter, Tirza, of Atlanta, Ga., and her two sons, Fabian, of Atlanta, Ga., and Sam, of Wake Forest; daughter, Jill Hamburg and husband, Troy, of Apex, and their three daughters, Logan, of Garner, Allie, of Clayton, and Alexis, of Charlotte, NC; and a son, Christopher, of Wake Forest; youngest daughter, Trish Harris and husband, Colin, of Salt Lake City, Utah, and their two sons, Levi and Remy.
A service was held on Tuesday, April 29, at St. Anthony of Padua Church, in Southern Pines. Donations to honor Phil can be made to The Penelope Project, University of Utah. Condolences may be made at www.bolesfuneralhome.com. Services entrusted to Boles Funeral Home of Seven Lakes.
