This year’s annual Lake Auman Sports Club’s Spring Team Bass Tournament took place on Saturday, May 17 on Lake Auman. A record number of teams and anglers participated, with 42 anglers making up the 16 teams that competed in this four-hour catch and release event.
Prizes were awarded to the top three teams with the heaviest total weights for the day and to the top three individuals for the largest bass caught.
Overall, there were 70 fish at the tournament weigh-in, also a record compared
to previous tournaments. First place honors went to brothers Jay and Scott Pedersen with their five-fish limit, weighing 20 pounds 15 ounces.
In second place were Rob Everett and his son Chris with their five fish weighing 19 pounds 17 ounces. In third place, rounding out the prize winner team list, were Adam, Ronnie and Kierce Minicucci, whose family team finished with five fish totaling 16 pounds 8.5 ounces.
The top three big bass prizes went to Rob Everett for catching a 6 pound 1 ounce bass, Jay Pederson for a 5 pound 11 ounce bass and Carl Howard weighing in the third largest bass at 5 pounds 2.5 ounces.
Participating anglers always enjoy the picnic luncheon at Johnson Point following these bass tournaments and this year continued that tradition. Jim Kessler set up the luncheon and was assisted by Don Smith. Stan Makson, Don Snell and Jeff Timmons officiated the weigh-in.
On hand to capture the event on camera was LASC photographer Steve Reid, who also competed in the bass tournament.
