On Saturday, July 15th, the Chapel in the Pines put on a Noah’s Ark play with their Vacation Bible School (VBS) students.
Kathy Golzio was in charge of organizing the play, but it would not have been a success without the support from church members.
“I can’t say it’s all me,” she said. “I’ve got a wonderful group of volunteers!”
Golzio and other volunteers began preparation for the play about six months ago. They organized crafts and props for the children to make and use, including animal face masks.
About twenty-four children participated in the play. Their ages ranged from four to twelve years old, with some teenagers helping as volunteers.
Meals were provided to the children during the VBS program, all funded by Chapel in the Pines. Pastor Paul was able to teach Bible lessons to the children, as well.
Although they only had two days to memorize their lines, the children were able to put on a play for their families.
“We’re really trying to get families to join,” Golzio explained. “We’re really trying to grow our church.”
