The designation marks the third consecutive “A” rating for Moore Regional Hospital and the second “A” rating for Moore Regional Hospital – Richmond.

Only 832 hospitals received the “A” ranking, positioning both campuses among the safest hospitals in the United States.

“We are pleased to once again earn the ‘A’ designation from The Leapfrog Group,” says David J. Kilarski, CEO of FirstHealth of the Carolinas.  “This designation is a reflection of the concerted effort made by both our clinical and quality teams to improve patient safety and clinical quality throughout our health network.”

Developed under the guidance of a Blue Ribbon National Expert Panel, the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade uses 27 measures of publicly available hospital safety data to assign A, B, C, D and F grades to more than 2,600 U.S. hospitals twice per year. It is calculated by top patient safety experts, peer reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public.
