Women of the Pines will host a tour of the home that was formerly the old Sacred Heart Church, 35 McLean Road in Pinehurst on Saturday, February 10 from 1 to 5 p.m. Join us for an opportunity to learn how Dick and Kathy Newcomb transformed the 100 year old Catholic sanctuary into a home. Photographs will be display that capture each stage of this incredible transformation. Enjoy tea provided by Marion Caso, owner of Lady Bedford’s Tea Parlour and an array of chocolate treats. Audrey Moriarty, Executive Director of the Tufts Archives and Given Memorial Library will be present to answer questions regarding the rich history of the Village in Pinehurst.
Local artists and WOTP members Dian Ellis Moore and Jean Smyth will be at the event, as well as Thoryn Ziemba from STARworks Glass in Star, NC. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at Lady Bedford’s, Given Library and Country Bookshop in January; or $25 at the door. For more information, contact Mary Hilgenberg at maryhilge@gmail.com. WOTP is a 501(c)(3) public charity.
