New Bill Allows 9th and 10th Graders to take College Classes

Yesterday, Senators Tom McInnis (R-Richmond) and Brent Jackson (R-Sampson) filed legislation to allow qualified 9th and 10th graders to take college classes at Community Colleges.

This Bill will allow freshmen and sophomores the ability to take both vocational and academic courses while gaining transferable college credits.

“We do not need to hold our best and brightest students back while they could be obtaining valuable college credit for academic classes or life/work skills needed for today’s trade opportunities,” said McInnis.
