The Cameron Collection Site (located at 276 Cranes Creek Road) will be temporarily closed effective March 30, 2020. All residents are asked to take their material to one of the six remaining collection sites.
“As a result of the concerns associated with COVID – 19 and the challenges this presents in maintaining fully staffed facilities we are sad to report that we must temporarily close the Cameron Solid Waste Collection Site,” said David Lambert, Solid Waste Manager. “We have made several internal adjustments to minimize impact on citizens, but we are no longer able to staff this facility.
Available staff will be assigned to remaining sites to assist with additional customer traffic.
Moore County encourages residents to avoid the crowds and visit our Solid Waste Collection sites throughout the week whenever possible. This will assist with social distancing and reduce occurrences where sites may reach waste capacity.
“Solid waste is an essential service and a service that citizens require. We do not make this decision lightly. Our Staff — and our collection site operators in particular — are working hard to serve you. If you see them, please thank them for their dedication to our community,” said Lambert.
