PINEHURST, NC – FirstHealth of the Carolinas is now offering video appointments for new and existing Behavioral Health Services patients.
The Behavioral Services team provides multi-level, integrated services to assist patients in their recovery from the physical, emotional, social and spiritual effects of their illnesses while recognizing the rights and dignity of the patients as individuals.
Due to the spread of COVID-19, Behavioral Services is offering telepsych services to ensure that patients receive the care they need right where they need it.
Jason Jerry, M.D., the medical director of Behavioral Services, said expanding the options for patients is crucial during the time.
“We want to meet patients where they are, and if that happens to be in their living room via video visit, that is great,” Jerry said. “Telepsych services will allow us to continue treating both established and new patients, and it will ensure that anyone dealing with mental illness, addiction or even COVID-19 related stress can get the care they need.”
New patients hoping to set up an appointment can call the clinic at (910) 715-6740, and depending on each situation, the therapist or provider will determine if an in-person or virtual appointment is best.
Behavioral Services will provide documents for patients to complete and return, and the patient will receive their appointment time.
In the case of a virtual visit, Behavioral Services will call the patient on the day of the appointment with instruction on how to access the appointment.
