Share Love With My Sweet Handcrafted Chocolates

As Valentines Day draws nearer once more, Carole Soxman, owner and founder of My Sweet Handcrafted Chocolates, is already getting geared up for the holiday. This year, Carole is doubling up on fan-favorites and supplying the Sandhills with delicious home-made chocolates fresh from her own kitchen.

According to Carole, the pandemic hasn’t put a damper on peoples’ passion for chocolate. In spite of the recent challenges the world has faced, business has been steadily building for My Sweet Handcrafted Chocolates.

“We got a great local following last year thanks to Seven Lakes Prescription Shoppe,” noted Carole. “They’ve even started selling chocolate at the drive through window! People are loving that.”

The Prescription Shoppe isn’t the only place in Seven Lakes to find Carole’s confections. My Sweet Handcrafted Chocolates has partnered up with Barron’s Boutique, which specializes in gift items and home décor. From February 1st through 13th, Barron’s Boutique will be offering a ten percent discount off of your entire purchase when you pick up a twelve-piece box of chocolates.

All products from My Sweet Handcrafted Chocolates are prepared by Carole in her Seven Lakes home. She has a kitchen specifically designated for making chocolate and is a North Carolina Department of Agriculture Certified Home Processor.

Despite the pandemic, fan-favorites haven’t changed: Carole’s best seller is still her classic espresso bark. At the Corner Store in Pinehurst, boxes of chocolate bon bons are the first to go, while Carole supplies Sunrise Theater in Southern Pines with a sufficient stock of handmade candy bars.

“I’ve been sticking with the tried-and-true favorites,” explained Carole. “People have been enjoying comforting, familiar favorites. They like what they like, so I’ll keep making it!”

In addition to her signature espresso bark, coffee fanatics can find even more coffee-flavored treats at Cactus Creek Coffee in Aberdeen. Each month, Cactus Creek selects three coffee flavors to be incorporated into chocolate bars from My Sweet Handcrafted Chocolates: one milk chocolate, one dark chocolate, and one white chocolate.

Additionally, Carole is more than happy to accommodate custom orders. Customers are welcome to choose from a variety of nut butters, fruit purees, caramel, toffee, and coffee to create their own unique custom assortment.

Boxes of My Sweet Handcrafted Chocolates can be found all over the Sandhills, as far away as East Bend, North Carolina. The widest selection of chocolates is currently available at Pine Scone Café locations and Hollyfield Design Inc. in Southern Pines. Most locations sell the sweets by the box, but wine connoisseurs may prefer stopping by Black Rock Winery to have their chocolate paired with the perfect wine.

Carole’s creations are so beloved, in fact, that they have even taken the title of Official Chocolate of the Village of Pinehurst Welcome Center. Carole also crafts chocolate trains for the Southern Pines train station.
