The Seven Lakes Fire and Rescue squad has once again been conscripted to service by the North Pole. The department is providing backup for Santa’s elves, ensuring all the good boys and girls have a Merry Christmas.
All are invited to lend a hand at their Toys for Tots benefit on Saturday, Dec. 3 at 6 p.m. at the station.
The event will include a double feature on the inflatable movie screen in the bay: “Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas” (1966), and “The Year without a Santa Claus” (1974). Admission is free.
All who are able are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped gift to help with the Toys for Tots drive. Popcorn and drinks will be available for donations of 50 cents each, with the proceeds going to the purchase of toys for the drive.
A special appearance by a holiday celebrity is expected for the event.
The station is also making it easy for children to get their Christmas lists to Santa. Letters can be delivered to the Letters to Santa drop box located by the front door of the station on Seven Lakes Drive until Dec. 18. Parents who add an email address in the letter will get a message back from Santa.
Seven Lakes Fire and Rescue thanks everyone for their support and wishes everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
