Garden Club Celebrates with Fellowship, Giving

Garden Club Tea Party

Contributed

Each year, the Seven Lakes Garden Club hosts a member event. The event features tea and baked goodies provided by the Board.

Attendees bring their own special teacups to enjoy Christmas and fruit tea. A sharing and caring event gives everyone an opportunity to provide items for a local non-profit.

This year Jiffy CornBread mix and canned peaches were collected for the food pantry at West End United Methodist Church, two items that they need more of and are challenged to source.

The members of the Garden Club are endlessly creative and each year they are provided an opportunity to show off their skills. Table Lanterns were this year’s craft challenge. Board member Lucia Skelton spearheaded the project with support from Trace Cicatelli and many of our club members.

They scoured local thrift and dollar stores for bud vases, candle sticks and candy dishes. After two big painting events and a glue event, they had a large quantity of lanterns to be decorated at the event. Bring on the ribbon, trims, picks, and glue guns! Let the decorating begin.

Amazing creations glistened and shined with new life from items rescued from a less glamorous purpose.

Good cheer to all for the holiday season and a new year filled with learning and fellowship.
