On March 14th, a meeting took place at the Seven Lakes Fire Department to announce the Firefighter of the Year. County Manager Wayne Vest attended the meeting.
Deputy Chief David Alston was chosen as the Seven Lakes Firefighter of the Year.
The Department recognized Eddie Thomas who has served as a firefighter at Seven Lakes for forty years. The station’s 636 Tanker was dedicated to Thomas for his service.
“It’s one of the best trucks around,” Fire Chief Chris King said.
Cal Loy was also recognized for his twenty-five years of service at the station. He received a personalized helmet and the station’s Engine 631 was dedicated to him.
“It should be dedicated to every member in here,” Loy said.
