The 21st Annual N.C. Peach Festival will be held on Saturday, July 15, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. in the heart of downtown Candor.
This year, festival organizers are seeking exhibitors who make handmade crafts and art. A special area will be set up in the shady Fitzgerald Park for crafters. Additionally, a special discounted rate will be available for handmade crafters and artisans.
Each year, some 6,000 – 8,000 people come from across the state for fresh peaches, great entertainment and fun activities.
N.C. Cooperative Extension officials say that not all the peaches may have been affected by recent bad weather. The later varieties, those ripening in mid-late July, may be okay.
The N.C. Peach Festival is held at Fitzgerald Park, in downtown Candor. The town is located one mile off I-73/I-74 in Montgomery County. The event will be held rain or shine.
