The newest provider at FirstHealth Internal Medicine in Pinehurst is enjoying a homecoming, of sorts.
Moore County native Brianne Evans, certified physician assistant (PA-C), joined Ronald Walters, M.D., at the practice this month. She brings experience both in internal and family medicine plus a great familiarity with the area.
“I grew up in Cameron and now live there with my family of three,” she says. “I’m excited to be back in the area and serving patients who live in my community.”
Evans has worked in patient care for 10 years, first in pediatrics, then in family medicine and now in internal medicine. Preventive care is a strong focus, she says.
“I want to help my patients improve their quality of life,” she says. “Screenings, vaccines and lifestyle changes can all lead to that, and those are the things I enjoy working with my patients to achieve. It’s exciting to help people take control of their own health.”
Evans grew up in Moore County and is a graduate of Union Pines High School, which is where she first became involved in medicine. She completed training and began work as a certified nursing assistant while in high school and maintained that course. She earned a bachelor’s in biology and a master’s in medical science, both from Methodist University in Fayetteville. She is also a graduate of the Physician Assistant Program there.
At home in Cameron, she lives with her husband, Jeremy; two-year-old son, Conner; and German shepherd Willow. As a family, they enjoy going to the park, bowling and “almost anything outside,” she says. With winter on the horizon, she also looks forward to skiing and snowboarding trips.
“I’m glad to be working back in my home county and in this new position,” she says. “I really enjoy meeting new patients, getting to know them and their health goals.”
Evans is accepting new patients at FirstHealth Internal Medicine, 293 Olmsted Blvd., Suite 1, McCormick Building, Pinehurst. For appointments, call (910) 715-8541.
