Bob (Chief) Temme Announces: Candidate Filing for the North Carolina House of Representatives – District 52

Moore County NC – I am announcing today, my candidacy for the North Carolina House of Representatives to represent the citizens of Moore county residing in Legislative District 52. As a strong Conservative Republican, I affirm my beliefs in the basic Republican principals of Smaller Government, Fiscal Conservatism, Individual Liberties and Responsibilities, the Federalist System of Government, National Defense and Tolerance, Inclusiveness, and Optimism.

The position of State Legislator is perhaps the most powerful office in the county, to bring both needed change to Moore County, and to maintain the quality of life and character that makes our collective communities special. I believe that anyone who is willing to seek and achieve such a position must act in a manner that is in the best interest of Moore County first, above all else including one’s self. A State Representative must be available, accessible, approachable, and have the desire to listen to constituents, not to simply reply, but rather to understand and fight on their behalf. It is with this image that I continue my campaign.

I am currently the Chief of Police for the Town of Southern Pines Police Department serving as the Chief of the Department since December of 2012. I have over thirty years of law enforcement experience, thirty years of firefighting experience, and I am presently serving my third term as the President of the Moore County Law Enforcement Officers Association. I am also an Assistant Professor, and former Chairman for the Aviation Department at the State University of New York and I value education and educators. I have served the State of North Carolina as the Manager of the Center for the Prevention of School Violence for the North Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice, with a primary focus on both pre-incident planning and the prevention of school violence. I have a strong educational background with an Associate of Science degree in Criminal Justice, a Bachelor of Science degree in Management and a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA). I am also a graduate of the F.B.I. National Academy in Quantico, Virginia. Additional education includes earning and maintaining a Federal Aviation Administration commercial pilot rating.

My love of Moore County and its residents runs deep. Moore County needs a State Representative that will actively advocate for our district’s residents. With over four decades of public service, my life story is my proven record that above all else, I value “Service Above Self” and would be honored to have your support and vote.
