Pinehurst Dubbed USGA’s First Anchor Site

This spring, construction will begin for the new USGA Anchor Site at Pinehurst Resort & Country Club.

This new USGA “Golf House Pinehurst” will include a facility to test equipment as well as a museum for visitors.  This will be the first site of this nature created by the USGA.

In addition, Pinehurst No. 2 is currently scheduled to host five US Opens in 2024, 2029, 2035, 2041, and 2047.

The new facility prompts both innovation and evolution within the world of golf as it will serve to enhance the game and player development for worldwide players.

This investment of $25 million will feature two new buildings located on Pinehurst Resort property.  They will house both the game’s historical moments as well as the leading technologies and developments into its future based on research.

These ambitions have been proclaimed as a “new chapter in golf history” by NC Governor Roy Cooper who is supportive of the new jobs, history, and growth that this project will provide.
