West End United Methodist Church broke ground on Sunday, August 26th, for their new addition. Besides enlarging its fellowship hall, the half-million dollar project will provide a much needed professional kitchen and two new bathrooms. These add-ons are essential to allow WEUMC to continue numerous outreach ministries centered around the kitchen. Besides Bread of Life (hot meals for seniors), and Shepherd’s Table (breakfast for food pantry clients) WEUMC hosts spaghetti dinners and Spring and Fall Suppers to raise funds for local Scout Troops and other mission projects. SBS Construction of Southern Pines is the contractor for this endeavor.
