On December 4th, 2019, a Hoke County jury returned guilty verdicts against Phyllis Ann Mull, of Raeford, and Stanley Marcus Draughon, of Hope Mills, related to the assault of Perry McBryde on October 17, 2014.
McBryde was attacked just after midnight as he entered his home in the 3600 block of Fayetteville Road, Raeford, which he shared with Mull, his former girlfriend. McBryde and Mull have one child together. McBryde suffered multiple broken bones and several lacerations.
Draughon was sentenced to a minimum of 163 months in prison for Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury and Conspiracy to commit the assault.
Mull was sentenced to a minimum of 84 months for Conspiracy to Commit Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury.
