St. Mary Magdalene Episcopal Church is holding their Annual Merry Market on Saturday, November 18th from 9:00AM-2:00PM.
St. Mary Magdalene Episcopal Church in Seven Lakes has been hosting the Annual Merry Market event since 2002. It was started by Deacon Carol Burgess who decided it would be beneficial to the community to have a local craft market.
“No one else had an indoor craft market,” said Julia Poisson who has been heavily involved in organizing the event for the past two years.
During this event, about fifteen to twenty crafters set up tables to feature their hand-crafted items, including jewelry, wreaths, and more. Some crafts will have a Christmas theme for the upcoming holiday.
Crafter Tina Viscuso will be at the event with necklaces, sewn baskets, and kitchen scrubbies. Edie and Bob Reinhardt will have their baskets and trellises, and Lori Fishler will have jewelry.
The church will also be having a bake sale. All of the bake sale funds will go directly to the church. Project Linus will be at the event collecting blanket donations for first responders.
Funds raised from the Merry Market will go to support charitable organizations. Last year the Merry Market supported Animal advocates, Friend To Friend, God Sent Angels, West End Pantry, Moore County Coalition, Moore County Literacy, Northern Moore Family Resource Center, Military Mission In Action, Food Bank, Karimu, Project Linus, and Penick Village.
